The steel post is anchored to a two-foot-six-inch diameter circular concrete pier via a base plate and anchor bolts with leveling nuts. A one-and-a-half-inch layer of non-shrink grout is placed beneath the base plate. The pier is reinforced with six number five vertical rebar and number three circular ties spaced at twelve inches on center, with three ties concentrated in the top five inches. The concrete pier features a tapered top surface and is embedded nine feet into compacted native soil. The assembly is surrounded by a fence curb and finished with landscaping, mulch, or sod at the surface.
