The assembly joins carpet over a cushion pad installed with adhesive attachment to adjacent tile set in thinset mortar. A scheduled transition strip bridges the two floor finishes with a maximum half-inch height tolerance. A bead of sealant is applied between the transition strip and the tile edge.
