This concrete walk assembly features a half-inch felt expansion joint material with a half-inch sealant on top and tooled quarter-inch radius edges. Number five smooth dowels, twenty-four inches long and spaced at twenty-four inches on center, are wrapped with a bond breaker on one side across the centerline. A six by six inch, number ten by number ten welded wire mesh reinforces the slab and discontinues at the expansion joint. A control joint with a one-eighth inch width and depth of depth over four is formed in the concrete walk. The entire assembly rests on a ninety percent compacted subgrade with a one and a half inch base layer.
