A three-and-five-eighths-inch by eighteen-gauge diagonal wall brace extends from the top track of a non-bearing steel stud wall to the overhead structure at a forty-five-degree angle spaced at eight feet on center. The brace features clip flanges formed into shoes at both ends for attachment. The upper shoe secures to the overhead deck or joist using four powder-actuated fasteners into a deep leg track or four screws into the lowest portion of the corrugated deck, taking care not to penetrate the roofing, or alternatively attached to the bottom chords of joists using three screws in each flange. The lower shoe connects to the top track of the non-bearing steel stud wall with four screws.
