A concrete-filled steel pipe guard post is embedded within a forty-two-inch deep concrete footing. A one-quarter-inch thick square base plate is welded to the bottom of the pipe with a three-eighths-inch fillet weld and set with three-inch clear cover. The top of the concrete is sloped and painted to match the post, while the exterior finish consists of galvanizing, priming, and two coats of exterior enamel. Footings are positioned two inches above finished grade in landscape areas with one-half-inch rounded tooled edges.
