Seismic bracing configuration for a suspended gypsum board ceiling system. Four horizontal twelve-gauge seismic splay brace wires are anchored at a forty-five degree angle within one and a half inches of a double metal stud compression strut. The metal stud compression strut is fastened to a one and a half inch by sixteen-gauge runner channel spaced at four feet on center using two twelve-fourteen self-tapping metal screws at each stud to tee-bar connection. A seven-eighths inch by twenty-six-gauge hat channel supports the gypsum board ceiling finish below. Twelve-gauge vertical hanger wires continue upward to the underside of the structural framing.
