The shaft wall partition consists of a central C-H steel stud flanked by gypsum liner panels fitted into the stud profile. Face layers of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board are applied to both outer sides of the assembly to achieve the required fire rating. Cavity spaces within the partition profile accommodate standard framing alignments.
