A vertical steel guardrail post mounts to a structural steel channel edge of slab, spaced one foot from the grid line. One-quarter-inch thick steel plate stiffeners are spaced at twenty-four inches on center, welded to both the channel and the steel cap. A steel plate stiffener measuring seven inches is integrated at the base connection. Grid lines seventeen point one, eighteen, and nineteen establish the horizontal alignment.
