This wall assembly detail features two layers of Type X gypsum wall board on both sides of metal wall framing sized per schedule. Cavity insulation fills the stud spaces, supplemented by three inches of extruded polystyrene cavity insulation installed on one side. The finish layers attach directly to the steel stud framing.
