A rated bulkhead and shaft wall transition is framed with metal channel studs and C-H studs. A 1-inch Type X gypsum board shaft liner is installed within the assembly alongside fiberglass sound batts for acoustic performance. The wall surfaces are finished with two layers of 5/8-inch Type X gypsum board, while the ceiling finish is coordinated per reflected plan and room finish schedules.
