Metal flashing components are fabricated using twenty-four gauge or heavier galvanized or pre-finished steel formed with a four-inch vertical leg, a ten-degree sloped leg, and a one-and-a-half-inch minimum vertical face terminating in a half-inch drip edge with a three-eighths-inch hem. Inside and outside corners require specific cuts, folds, and end dams with sealant at overlapping joints to maintain weatherproofing. Overlapping flashing segments maintain a four-inch minimum lap with sealant applied between layers and bayonet-type seams formed at intersections. Crimped end dams are required at all flashing terminations at openings, windows, and walls.
