A horizontal pipe or conduit passes through a one-hour fire-rated wall assembly composed of gypsum board on both sides with cavity insulation. Firestop packing and sealant fill the annular space around the penetrating item at both faces of the wall. A note indicates that all ducts, pipes, or conduits passing through fire-rated walls must comply with IBC Section 714.
