A rated bulkhead transition at a suspended ceiling utilizes metal C-H studs and channel studs. The assembly is infilled with fiberglass sound batt insulation and lined with one-inch Type X gypsum board shaft liner. Both faces of the bulkhead are finished with two layers of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board. The adjacent ceiling system is coordinated per the reflected ceiling plan.
