A PVC supply line runs horizontally beneath finish grade and connects to a ball valve using a PVC male adaptor. The valve sits inside a maximum 12-inch deep round concrete box fitted with a steel hinged lockable cover marked with 'B.V.'. The entire box rests on a minimum 6-inch depth bed of three-quarter-inch pea gravel for drainage. Installation notes require the ball valve to be placed in shrub areas unless approved otherwise, with the valve box set flush to finish grade in turf areas and two inches above finish grade in groundcover areas.
