A steel alternating tread device extends to the finished roof surface with its top tread aligned at or above the roof line. A ladder safety post is provided as specified. The device is secured using 2x2x5/16 steel angles fastened to the ladder on both sides with 3/8-inch thru-bolts. The base is anchored with 1/2-inch expansion bolts on both sides.
