A double metal stud compression strut extends vertically through a suspended lay-in ceiling grid, secured by two number 12-14 self-tapping screws at the stud to the T-bar notch with flanges notched on both sides to allow tile placement. Four horizontal 12 gauge seismic splay brace wires connect at an angle between 35 and 55 degrees with a minimum of four turns per wire. A 12 gauge vertical hanger wire continues up to the underside of the structural framing. A maximum 2 inch spacing and 1 1/2 inch clearance are maintained at the ceiling grid boundary.
