This window head detail shows the junction between an exterior window unit and a backup wall clad in glass-fiber reinforced concrete panels. The assembly incorporates a prefinished sheet metal head flashing with a hemmed drip edge, secured with two rows of sheet metal fasteners tied into vertical metal Z-girts and Cascadia clips. A liquid-applied flashing prestrip and additional liquid-applied membrane over the sheet metal flashing conceal fasteners and integrate with the water-resistive barrier. The window is secured with intermittent attachment clips set in silicone sealant along the air barrier line. A half-inch silicone sealant bead over a backer rod ties into the continuous perimeter seal, while a silicone heel bead runs along the full perimeter of the interior glazed insulated glass unit. An insect screen is integrated into the metal flashing assembly, and continuous support is provided for the finish at strap locations.
