Top landing section of an interior steel stair assembly. Two-by-twelve hollow structural section stringers run along both sides, with the top edge cut to maintain a one-half-inch clearance from the top of the base shoe along the stair run. A metal angle bracket supports each tread per structural requirements, alongside a closure plate at the landing edge. The guardrail stands at forty-two inches high with a handrail at thirty-six inches, utilizing one-half-inch by two-inch vertical bars at four inches on center and a one-half-inch by two-inch top rail. A two-inch minimum contrast strip is provided at the tread edge.
