A butterfly latch assembly mounts to a tubular gate post frame using a quarter-inch metal plate welded to both sides and ground smooth. A lever measuring 2-1/2 inches by 1-1/2 inches by 1/4 inch diameter is welded directly to the latch. The assembly is integrated with a chain link fence frame having maximum clearances of 10 inches and 3 inches.
