The aluminum awning frame, specified as a Mapes Architectural Canopies Super Lumideck with integral drainage, is supported by an aluminum beam anchored to the exterior wall. The beam connection utilizes one-half inch diameter through-bolts with a backing plate, installed per the manufacturer's instructions. A tension rod extends from the outer edge of the awning frame back to the exterior wall assembly. The underside of the canopy is finished with an aluminum soffit. A downspout is integrated into the assembly, with its specific location determined by the project plans.
