Electrical outlet boxes or low-voltage devices are recessed into gypsum board wall assemblies on opposite faces. The assembly incorporates sound attenuation insulation within the stud cavity. A minimum horizontal separation of two feet is maintained between the device boxes to reduce acoustic flanking and sound transmission through the partition.
