A C12x20.7 or equal steel stair stringer frames into a base angle welded with a quarter-inch fillet weld and anchored to a thickened slab on grade. The connection uses a 3x3x5/16 inch angle by 6 inches long secured by a 3/4-inch diameter expansion bolt into the concrete foundation. The continuous thickened slab footing measures 1 foot 6 inches wide with three inches of clear cover and contains two continuous number 5 reinforcing bars. A note specifies that actual stairs are to be pre-engineered by the steel fabricator.
