An accessible stair configuration requires a minimum tread depth of 1'-0". The handrail extension at the top of the stair begins directly above the landing nosing and extends twelve inches minimum. The handrail extension at the bottom of the stair extends at the slope of the stair flight for a horizontal distance equal to one tread depth beyond the bottom tread nosing.
