A double stud header framing connects to a vertical jamb stud with a one-eighth-inch clearance gap at the bottom of the head. The web is cut flush with the jamb at the bottom track per Detail P. A weld symbol specifies a one-eighth-inch fillet weld at the bottom of the head to the jamb.
