A cast polymer shower surround and base abut a non-rated wall assembly framed with steel joists and finished with five-eighths inch moisture-resistant Type X gypsum board. The floor/wall assembly incorporates additional batt insulation filling the joist bay around the water closet plumbing penetration. Firestopping is provided at the annular space surrounding the plumbing hole. Provide moisture-resistant gypsum board and sealant at the shower pan flange.
