An aluminum window system mullion abuts a metal stud framed wall carrying a weathered Corten steel panel exterior finish. The wall assembly consists of a high-temperature weather resistive barrier installed over one-half-inch glass-mat gypsum sheathing board, with cavity insulation sized per energy calculations. A pre-finished aluminum closure matching the aluminum panel is tied in at the jamb, sealed with backer rod and sealant against the window mullion. An insulated glass unit is glazed into the aluminum frame alongside an outline for a future interior finish.
