A steel angle brace measuring 4x4x1/4 inches is positioned at the deck bearing on each side at the top of the steel column and extends to the nearest joist or beam. A half-inch closure plate meets the deck, and a typical roof deck attachment connects to the angle per structural requirements. The angle is secured to the steel column with a three-sixteenths fillet weld.
