Light gauge steel framing splices utilize nested nesting segments to maintain structural continuity across member joints. A steel track splice uses a twenty-four inch minimum piece of stud nested inside the top or bottom track, secured with six number six gauge screws on each flange on each side of the splice. A steel stud splice uses a twenty-four inch long piece of track nested over the steel stud, similarly fastened with six number six gauge screws on each flange on each side of the joint.
