An acoustic metal stud wall terminates at a cross-laminated timber deck or concrete floor slab, with the partition type and metal runner track sized per structural drawings. The runner track attaches directly to the deck. Cavities within the metal stud framing receive acoustical insulation as required by the partition type. Continuous beads of non-hardening sealant apply along the intersection of the runner and the inner layer of gypsum board. A one-quarter to three-eighths inch gap between the gypsum and the structure is completely filled with sealant to maintain acoustic performance.
CONTINUOUS BEADS OF NON-HARDENING SEALANT ALONG INTERSECTION OF RUNNER AND INNER LAYER OF GYP. GAP BETWEEN GYP AND STRUCTRE TO BE 1/4" TO 3/8", COMPLETELY FILLED WITH SEALANT. REFER TO PLAN FOR PARTITION TYPE METAL RUNNER TRACK. ATTACH TO DECK SSD ACOUSTICAL INSULATION AS REQUIRED BY PARTITION TYPE CLT DECK OR CONCRETE FLOOR SLAB - REFER TO STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS AT METAL STUD WALL 11/19/2020 3:56:20 PM SGJJR RSC
