A one-half inch thick continuous steel plate secures a laminated glass railing to the face of a stair stringer. The stair stringer consists of a structural steel member supporting a concrete over steel deck floor system with tile flooring at the landing. A stainless steel handrail is mounted to the glass railing at a height of three feet zero and one-eighth inches above the finished concrete. The underside of the assembly is finished with two and one-half inch metal studs and gypsum board.
