This plan detail shows a hollow structural section measuring 4x4 by 5/16 inches welded to a steel base plate of three-eighths-inch thickness as required. The connection is secured with two five-eighths-inch diameter by six-inch embedment ASTM F1554 anchor bolts featuring heavy hex nuts or bolt heads at the bottom. A three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld joins the steel post to the base plate.
