The base of the steel stair features a galvanized steel plank grating tread set at a typical eleven-inch run and a seven-inch maximum riser height. A galvanized steel riser plate drops down above the paving with a one-half inch gap. A galvanized steel channel stringer runs beyond the assembly, supported by a tread support angle and a clip angle that is welded to the stringer and expansion bolted to the paving. A one-and-one-half-inch diameter galvanized steel pipe guardrail extends along the side of the stair assembly.
