An irrigation shut-off valve is installed inside a ten-inch round emitter box positioned flush with the finish grade. A three-foot coil of one-half-inch polyvinyl chloride hose connects to the shut-off valve and transitions to a rigid polyvinyl chloride lateral line via a schedule forty polyvinyl chloride socket-by-socket elbow. The emitter box is set over a twelve-inch depth of pea gravel with no soil inside the box, maintaining a two-inch minimum clearance around the base.
