This assembly details a backdraft damper jamb supported by a two-by-two inch horizontal hollow structural section member spanning between vertical structural mullions. A bird screen is secured to the horizontal hollow structural section using one-way security fasteners. The exposed steel members are coated with polymethyl methacrylate liquid flashing at the base. Structural connections utilize acrylic-coated structural fastener Tek screws to attach the damper to the embedded steel, jamb, and header. Finish requirements for the damper support framing steel are specified in the sector floor plans.
