A hollow metal door and frame bears directly on a structural threshold located above a concrete slab on grade. The exterior side transitions to an adjacent concrete pad or sidewalk provided by others, while the interior rests on the main interior slab. A concrete panel and compacted sub-base support the slab assembly.
