A stair-mounted steel guardrail assembly anchors to a steel plate stringer. The system features a top rail, vertical supports, pickets, and a side-mounted handrail offset by one and one-half inches from the guardrail plane. The vertical support extends down to weld directly to the steel plate stringer adjacent to the concrete-filled steel pan tread with welded wire mesh. All open ends of hollow structural members require end caps.
