A double stud plumbing chase wall is framed with three and five-eighths inch, 22 gauge metal studs spaced at 16 inches on center. The cavity contains three and one-half inch sound batt insulation. The exterior faces are finished with five-eighths inch gypsum board or five-eighths inch moisture-resistant gypsum board, with half-inch Dens Shield tile backer board and ceramic tile set over presanded dryset or latex Portland cement mortar at wet areas. Ceiling joists frame into the assembly with a 12-inch vertical dimension layout.
