This acoustic wall assembly features two layers of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board on both sides of the wall framing. Sound attenuation batts are installed within the stud cavity for acoustic performance. A duct or pipe penetrates the assembly, sealed with non-hardening sealant at the perimeter joints to maintain acoustic isolation.
