The roof drain assembly integrates into wood roof sheathing supported by structural framing, with tapered rigid insulation creating the necessary slope toward the drain sump. A reinforced membrane waterproofing layer extends continuously over the insulation and ties into the drain flange with sealant. The drain unit is installed per the manufacturer's recommendations and secured through the structural assembly. Tapered rigid insulation provides a slope of less than three inches to one horizontal foot at the drain sump.
