A steel guardrail mounts to a stair stringer at a stair landing or tread. The vertical posts consist of one-and-one-quarter-inch standard pipe spaced to maintain an opening of less than four inches between intermediate rails. A separate three-eighths-inch steel rod handrail is supported by small brackets attached as required. The entire steel assembly is specified to be hot-dip galvanized after fabrication.
