A one and a half inch outer diameter stainless steel handrail connects to a post using a half inch stainless steel rod and a three sixteenths inch stainless steel cap plate. The handrail post extends into a two inch diameter pipe sleeve featuring an eighth inch bottom closure plate embedded within a concrete filled steel pan stair. Three eighth inch steel stiffener plates are spaced typically at each post and welded to the sleeve and tread. A steel channel stringer supports the stair assembly while adjacent gypsum wallboard and metal framed walls or guardrails are provided per plan.
