The assembly consists of two parallel rows of metal studs separated by a one-inch minimum clear space without rigid cross-bracing. Lateral stud bracing is provided as required. Each side of the partition receives one layer of one-half-inch fire-retardant-treated plywood backing, one layer of one-half-inch homasote, and acoustical insulation within the cavity.
