A J.R. Smith 4028C floor cleanout is set flush within a concrete slab, extending down via a cast-iron riser supported by compacted soil. The riser connects to a sewer pipe using banded couplings and a one-eighth bend fitting installed at the termination point. Typical sewer piping runs horizontally below grade, joined with similar mechanical couplings.
