A ribbed metal panel is installed over a weather resistive barrier, five-eighths-inch exterior gypsum board, and six-inch metal CH studs. A J-mold terminates the edge alongside mineral wool insulation. The general contractor has the option to use sealant and backer rod or a self-adhering waterproof membrane flashing strip over the edge of the sheathing and onto the duct frame to provide a proper seal.
