A suspended gypsum board ceiling is supported by wire hangers spaced at twenty-four inches on center maximum. Two-and-a-half-inch ceiling runners are installed at sixteen inches on center unless noted otherwise. Seven-eighth-inch furring channels run perpendicular to the runners at sixteen inches on center unless noted otherwise. A layer of five-eighth-inch gypsum board is screw-attached to the underside of the furring channels.
