A continuous steel pipe top rail is positioned at three feet six inches above finished floor to serve as the top of the guardrail. A separate steel pipe handrail is mounted at three feet zero and one-half inches above finished floor, supported by a three-quarter-inch plate handrail support with a one and one-eighth-inch radius curve. A minimum clearance of one and one-half inches is maintained below the bottom of the handrail gripping surface in accordance with accessibility requirements. Intermediate rails are omitted from the view for clarity.
