A hollow metal door frame is secured to a concrete wall with a minimum three-inch embedment using three-eighths-inch Hilti KB3 countersunk expansion bolts and expansion anchors per jamb. Shims are placed for alignment between the frame and the concrete substrate. A metal opening anchor is welded to the hollow metal door frame. A three-eighths-inch sealant bead with a backer rod is applied on both sides of the joint between the frame and the concrete wall.
