An automatic flushing filter with an Amiad automatic plastic filter and stainless steel screen is connected via two-inch galvanized iron schedule eighty unions and fittings to a downstream valve and ball valve. The piping transitions to polyvinyl chloride schedule eighty risers, unions, and a male adapter connecting to the polyvinyl chloride mainline from the point of connection. A drain pipe extends to a sump, with metal fittings exposed to soil and concrete coated with pipe primer and wrapped with black tape. A separate expanded metal backflow enclosure rests on a poured concrete base that is six inches minimum thickness and extends four inches beyond the outside dimensions of the enclosure. The enclosure features support rods, lifting handles, and hold-down assemblies anchored to the concrete pad.
