Cold-formed steel ceiling joists bear perpendicularly onto a double top track of a framed wall. A rim track matching the gauge of the ceiling joists caps the assembly. One number 8 screw secures the top and bottom of each ceiling joist to the rim track. Two number 8 screws connect each ceiling joist to the top track. A ceiling tie fastens with two number 8 screws at each ceiling joist. Gypsum board attaches to the underside of the ceiling joists with number 8 screws at six inches on center. Wall framing studs connect to the top track with one number 8 screw at each wall stud flange, with insulation installed in the wall cavity where indicated.
