A hollow structural section post bears on a nine-inch by five-inch by one-half-inch embed plate set into an existing concrete wall. The plate is secured with two three-quarter-inch diameter epoxy anchors utilizing Hilti HIT-RE 500-V3 adhesive. A hollow structural section beam frames above, supported by the post with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld and a one-half-inch thick closure plate. Metal decking sits above the beam framing with flashing details coordinated per architectural drawings. The assembly maintains a two-foot clearance height from the concrete bearing level to the underside of the upper framing.
